Sports Day 2022
For the first time in three years, we held our whole school sports day on the field at the front of school. After overnight rain, the weather was good and we were happy to see so many parents and grandparents turn out to see the children participate in the events.
Early Years
We started the day at 9:30am with races for the children in Nursery and Reception. The children and staff made their way on to the field ready for the event to commence. All the children participated in several races. First came the egg and spoon race followed by balancing a beanbag on your head. The children went on to compete in the sack race, the beanbag on a racket race and finally, a running race. Stickers were awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place and also for special effort. We were so proud of how the children participated in their first ever sports day. We finished off the event with races for their younger siblings, parents and staff.
Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2
At 1:30pm it was the turn of the children in Year 3, Year 4 and Year 5. The children chose which races they wanted to compete in. They could choose from a selection of races such as the sack race, three-legged race, space hopper relay, obstacle course, hurdles, running race and relay. After the children had completed their races, it was the turn of their younger siblings, adults and the staff to have a go. The children loved seeing some of the staff attempting the three-legged race!
We ended our sports day with the KS1 and KS2 classes taking part in water races. Thanks to some giant water pistols, no-one managed to stay dry!
