Welcome to Year 4

Our classroom is fun and vibrant, where children are encouraged to be confident, independent learners. We strive for each child to develop a growth mindset and for them to embrace new challenges with perseverance and resilience. Our environment is safe and nurturing, staff place great importance on ensuring all children are happy and we value parental involvement and collaboration. We work hard to ensure all children reach their academic potential and celebrate effort, success and progress in both school and extra-curricular activities.

Our Curriculum

During Year 4, we cover a wide range of topics. Cross curricular links and links to children’s interests and hobbies are made where possible to ensure learning is relevant and meaningful. Themed days and school trips are organised to enhance children’s learning experiences. These provide memories that will last a lifetime!

The topics in Year 4 are:

Autumn 1 - Ancient Egypt

Autumn 2 - Burps, Bottoms and Bile

Spring 1 - Made in Huddersfield

Spring 2 - Go Europe!

Summer 1 - Crime and Punishment

Summer 2 - Blue Planet

PE

P.E is on a Monday and Wednesday afternoon. Please can you ensure that children have kit for both indoor (shorts, t-shirts and pumps) and outdoor PE (Warm tracksuit) as we do as much P.E as we can outside (weather permitting).
